Irish banks are serial offenders when it comes to upsetting customers with new, invariably higher, fees and charges. So the news that Bank of Ireland was planning to introduce a minimum level of €700 for a cash withdrawal in one of its branches was never going to go down well with its customers.

To make it worse, the news was announced just days after the bank suffered a delay in processing many payments.
