No compensation scheme over HSE cyber attack

Executive to contact more than 100,000 people whose personal data was breached during hack

The HSE has told those impacted by last year’s cyber attack to go through the courts for compensation, opting not to set up a scheme for payouts to people whose data was breached.

More than 100,000 people are to be contacted by the executive over the coming months about their personal data being breached as a result of last May’s hack on the country’s health service.
