Nama ‘unlikely’ to be repaid €200 million in project loans

The agency has advanced €3.6 billion in new funding to debtors or receivers over their former assets since 2010 'to protect the value of assets' as well as for capital or current expenditure on projects

Nama is “unlikely to be repaid” €200 million it advanced in loans to fund development projects and other buildings in its portfolio, the agency has said.

Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe said the agency confirmed earlier this month that it does not expect to be repaid the money which “relates to necessary expenditure to protect and maintain secured assets including health and safety works”.
