The long-awaited report by Robert Mueller into alleged Russian ties to Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign is complete - and it’s already being dismissed as a damp squib

On May 17, 2017, acting US attorney general Rod Rosenstein issued Order No 3915-2017 authorising Robert Mueller, the former head of the FBI, to take over an investigation that the newly-fired FBI director James Comey instigated; namely, whether there were any links or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the election campaign of President Donald Trump.
