Microsoft’s child abuse fears over new European privacy rules

Global computing giant Microsoft told the government it was concerned that new European privacy rules could interfere with its ability to detect material relating to child sexual abuse.

The warning was issued during a meeting earlier this year between Microsoft executives and former communications minister Denis Naughten.
