A new report from an expert group has warned the government must spend significantly more money to put in place an adequate oversight regime for construction products.

The National Building Control Office (NBCO), the state body in charge of carrying out market surveillance on the block-building sector, has said in a newly published audit report that “dedicated government funding” is needed to improve the regulation of concrete producers in Ireland.
