Meta’s data centre used same electricity as 151,000 homes

Meta’s data centre in County Meath used the same amount of electricity, and emitted carbon at the same rate, as roughly 151,000 Irish homes in 2021.
The company, which is the owner of Facebook, has published its latest sustainability report, which covers 2021. The document has detailed Meta’s total electricity consumption, location-based emissions and water withdrawal from mains worldwide.
