The Metropolitan Police in London have launched an investigation into the collapsed Irish tech firm Ammado and its founder Peter Conlon, the Irish tycoon who is in custody in Switzerland amid allegations of embezzlement and unfair business dealings.

The Met made the move after receiving a complaint from a London-based charity which used the Ammado platform to raise money for its activities. However, the money was never passed on, prompting the complaint.
