MEP Barry Andrews calls on government to outline due diligence on fast fashion outlet Shein

Chinese fashion retailer today announced Dublin as their new European, Middle East, and Africa headquarters with the creation of 30 jobs

Barry Andrews: “Shein is facing serious human-rights allegations of sourcing Uighur-produced cotton, effectively using modern slavery and forced labour to produce their clothes at such a cheap cost.“

Barry Andrews, the Fianna Fail MEP, has said he is “deeply concerned” by the practices of Shein and their effects on workers and the environment and has called on the government to outline with due diligence it has carried out on the fast-fashion outlet.
