Man sacked over eyebrow remarks awarded €15,000

A employee of Boyne Valley Group who was sacked for making comments about a colleague’s eyebrows, sunbed usage and financial affairs has been awarded €15,000 for unfair dismissal.

The man who worked at Boyne Valley, Drogheda, Co Louth, was dismissed for gross misconduct in May 2015 after an investigation by the company. It was initiated after a young female colleague made a formal complaint to the factory manager about personal remarks towards her.
