Majority of adults still ‘do not trust’ Irish charities

The vast majority of Irish adults do not trust Irish charities, according to a new survey by Amárach Research.

Conducted on behalf of Charities Institute Ireland (CII), the research showed that 30 per cent of 1,000 adults surveyed believed the sector could be deemed trustworthy – compared with 24 per cent in 2017.

Some 22 per cent of all people surveyed said they only “somewhat trust” the sector, while 1 per cent “completely trust” Irish charities.
