Major Kerry power station knocked out until next year as Ireland’s energy deficit worsens

Most units at Tarbert power station will stay offline until next year, worsening Ireland’s power supply crisis as winter approaches.

The news comes as Eirgrid, the electricity grid operator, published its latest Generation Capacity Statement today, which shows a significant deterioration in Ireland’s power system adequacy since last year’s report.
