Lobbying leads to BT Ireland 999 operators’ pay rise

Nearly 60 workers at BT Ireland have received a pay rise after lobbying dozens of politicians over the company’s delay in implementing a Labour Court recommendation.

BT hired the workers to handle 999 calls as part of a €50 million state contract and they have been in dispute over pay and conditions since 2017.
