Lidl invested €1bn in Irish agri-food industry last year

Deals included significant exports like Keohane’s seafood in Britain, Germany, Cyprus, Italy and the US

Lidl invested €1 billion in Irish agri-food businesses last year, the supermarket retailer announced on Wednesday.

In its latest Supplier Impact Report, Lidl said that €682 million of its investment stayed within its operations and went towards products for its Irish stores.

The remaining €318 million worth of Irish food and drink was exported to outlets in other countries.
