Lenders set for new Central Bank rules on SME credit

Lenders could be forced to provide detailed written reasons for declining SME loan requests, under new rules being considered by the Central Bank.

Documents released by the Central Bank today show that lenders could face new rules in relation to SME lending, particularly in relation to declined requests for credit and dealing with borrowers in financial difficulty.
