The Labour Party will table a motion at its annual conference next month to formalise its presence in Northern Ireland, as the potential of a united Ireland in the years ahead moves up the political agenda.

It comes as the two main government parties, Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil, have confirmed to the Business Post that they have no current plans to open offices in Northern Ireland or formalise their presence there.
