The installation of modular housing for Ukrainian refugees in Kildare has been paused due to local protests.

The government had chosen two sites in Kildare as part of its plan to roll out 500 modular homes for 2,000 Ukrainian refugees around the country.

There were protests organised by locals against the plan to put in 30 modular homes in Rathangan village and 34 modular homes on a public green in Newbridge.
