The EU may have to consider temporary checks on goods coming from Ireland if the British government moves ahead with its Northern Ireland protocol legislation, Sean Kelly has said.

The Fine Gael MEP has been appointed as lead author for the European Parliament for new legislation aimed at responding to any breaches of the EU-UK withdrawal agreement by the British government.
