Judge ‘taken aback’ by Marley demand for €18.7 million debt write-off
Developer’s latest attempt to avoid bankruptcy follows rejected personal insolvency arrangement
A High Court judge has raised concerns about apparent conflicts in the financial statements of troubled businessman Philip Marley who has made an eleventh- hour bid to ward off bankruptcy.
Last week, Mr Justice Denis McDonald said he was “taken aback” by the 47-year-old’s application for a debt settlement arrangement (DSA) to write down borrowings of €18.7 million.
