Johnson & Johnson Vision to invest €100m in Limerick site

The US multinational said today that the investment will allow the company to expand the facility's manufacturing capacity for contact lenses

The multinational firm, which was founded in 1886, employs more than 130,000 people worldwide, including 1,650 in Ireland.

Johnson & Johnson Vision Care is to invest €100 million in the expansion of its facility in Plassey, Limerick.

The US multinational said today that the investment will allow the company to expand the facility's manufacturing capacity, with the installation of fully automated flexible manufacturing lines.

The site in Limerick is one of the largest contact lens manufacturers facilities in the world. The company said the expansion has the potential to create 80 jobs.
