Job candidates’ demands are excessive, business leader survey finds

Bosses say that applicants asking too much in terms of pay and conditions is adding to rising costs for companies

Two-thirds of senior business leaders believe that prospective employees are making excessive demands in relation to salary, remote working, and benefits, a survey has found.

The research, carried out by Matrix Recruitment, comes as businesses deal with rising input prices and increasing legislation.

“From a company perspective, currently all businesses have to contend with increasing utility costs and soon you may have to cover extra employee costs,” Kieran McKeown, managing director of Matrix Recruitment, told the Business Post.
