Professional sailor Joan Mulloy is planning to raise €3.5 million to become the first Irish woman to enter the prestigious Vendée Globe Race in 2020.

Mulloy is competing in a series of difficult races to secure a position in the solo around-the-world yacht race and is so far on course to make it.
