Irish firms ‘kicking the carbon emissions can down the road’ amid energy pressures

Study of 300 large organisations shows half delaying their net-zero plans due to problems in the energy sector

Up to 50 per cent of Irish businesses are planning to delay investment in sustainable energy practices and net-zero strategies as a result of global pressures in the sector, according to a new survey.

The study, published by Schneider Electric Ireland, the Irish arm of the French energy giant, also showed that 85 per cent of Irish business respondents said the energy crisis would impact their ability to meet emission reductions plans.
