An Irish court is not the appropriate venue for an action to enforce an Albanian judgment for €433 million against Italy’s largest power multinational, ENEL, the Court of Appeal has found.

While the case was found to present “a difficult and complex point of private international law”, Mr Justice Gerard Hogan has affirmed an earlier Commercial Court ruling that the proceedings have no connection with Ireland.
