Ireland’s unemployment rate drops in December to 4.3%

Ireland’s unemployment rate declined to 4.3 per cent in December, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.

Despite challenging economic headwinds, the country’s level of unemployment continued to fall last month, down from 4.4 per cent in November, and 5.1 per cent in December 2021.

Figures published by the CSO today show that December’s rate was lower than the 4.8 per cent level of unemployment recorded pre-pandemic, in December 2019.
