Ireland still has ‘competitive advantage’ in the ICT sector
However, over-reliance on investment from the US leaves country exposed
Overseas investment in Ireland is more resilient than in other countries with international firms less likely to leave, a leading researcher has said.
Martin Wermelinger, the author of the recent OECD FDI Qualities Assessment of Ireland report, said that while recent job losses in the technology sector were a concern for Ireland, the country typically tended to retain a greater share of overseas investment.
