The Irish government is actively considering whether it will join a new Nato group on protecting subsea infrastructure after Russian activity off the coast, the Business Post has learned.

Earlier this year, Nato created a Critical Undersea Infrastructure Coordination Cell for the purpose of “sharing best practices”, “leveraging innovative technologies”, and “boosting the security of Allied undersea infrastructure”.
