Ireland missed an “enormous opportunity” to position itself at the cutting edge of offshore wind, and must urgently develop a strategy to improve the situation amid fears over energy security due to the Ukraine war, industry stakeholders will warn this week.

Representatives from Wind Energy Ireland (WEI), which represents companies in the wind industry, will tomorrow tell politicians Ireland must not repeat the mistakes of the past by failing to develop its wind energy infrastructure.
