Ireland faces EU sewage case next month

The European Commission is taking Ireland to court next month over the pumping of partly-treated sewage into rivers and the sea.

It has complained that there are 25 locations where Ireland is still failing to provide the secondary treatment needed to clean up sewage from towns and cities.

These include ten sites in Cork, three in Donegal and two in Tipperary.
