Instagram fined €405m by Data Protection Commission for breaching children’s privacy rights

Instagram has been fined €405 million by the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) for breaching the privacy rights of children under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

It marks the DPC’s biggest fine issued to date, and the second major fine imposed on Meta after a €225 million fine was imposed on WhatsApp last year.
