Garda Commissioner's evidence "not accurate, not acceptable", says PAC
PAC strongly critical of Garda Commissioner over delays in informing justice minister and the comptroller and auditor general when concerns first arose
The Garda Commissioner gave information to the State's spending watchdog, the comptroller and auditor general, that was "not accurate and therefore not acceptable" according to the Dail's Public Accounts Committee.
Noirin O'Sullivan wrote to Seamus McCarthy on July 31, 2015, in the context of his signing off on accounts for the previous year.
But she did not inform him of issues around financial irregularities at the Garda training college in Templemore, which had come to her attention...
