Inner city Garda station will not re-open until 2020

A planned multimillion euro refurbishment of Fitzgibbon Street Garda Station has been beset by delays including a row between An Garda Síochána and the Office of Public Works

A key inner city Garda station that the government promised to re-open nearly two years ago will not be ready until 2020 at the earliest, The Sunday Business Post can reveal.

The government announced the re-opening of Fitzgibbon Street Garda Station in Dublin’s north inner city in July 2016 as part of its response to the increasingly violent Hutch-Kinahan feud which, as of last month, has claimed 14 victims.
