Candidates to be the next IFA president will need at least €100,000 to run an election campaign, according to sources.

Presidential candidates will typically have 400 to 500 farmers campaigning on their behalf all over the country.

The money pays for their accommodation, food and fuel expenses. Candidates can recoup some of their expenses from the IFA.
