IDA summoned by Oireachtas committee over job cuts at tech firms
Inward investment agency to brief enterprise committee after hundreds of staff let go by Twitter, Meta, Stripe and Salesforce
The state’s inward investment agency has been summoned by a cross-party committee to discuss the recent spate of job cuts at major tech firms operating in Ireland.
Officials from IDA Ireland will appear next week at the Oireachtas enterprise committee to discuss mass layoffs at Meta, Twitter, Stripe and Salesforce over recent weeks, a spokeswoman for the agency confirmed.
Representatives from Technology Ireland, the Ibec group which represents the sector, will also appear at the meeting, Maurice Quinlivan, the Sinn Féin TD who chairs the committee, told the Business Post.
