The HSE is seeking to launch a fresh recruitment campaign for overseas nurses and midwives, admitting it cannot meet the need for staff despite warnings that the system is already too reliant on workers from abroad.

New documents show the executive is seeking information from companies who may be able to increase the supply of healthcare workers from abroad, ahead of the start of a more formal tendering process.
