The HSE has yet to start contacting people whose data was significantly compromised in the cyber attack in May 2021, despite plans to begin the process by April.

The executive has for months been processing reams of data, including medical records, stolen by cyber criminals last summer, to work out what to do about an issue that could affect thousands of people in Ireland.

In March, the HSE told the Business Post that it did not expect any delay to the time period it had previously cited for communicating with affected individuals – a maximum of 16 weeks from last December.
