Hospital shareholders warn they could block abortion law

Shareholders in some of the state’s private hospitals want a legal provision in the new law that allows them to be bought out at market value if their hospital begins carrying out abortions under the Regulation of the Termination of Pregnancy Bill

Minority shareholders in some of the state’s private hospitals are warning they will block the new abortion law in the courts unless it protects their right to conscientiously object to terminations.
