High street vacancy rates down to single figures

High street vacancy rates have improved across the country, according to CBRE's bi-annual retail report.

Seven of the ten locations surveyed recorded either stability or an improvement in vacancy rates in the last six months.

Cork's main shopping street showed the most significant improvement.

A number of pop-up or short letssaw the vacancy rate reduce to 6.6 per cent at the end of September.

Belfast's vacancy rate also stood at six per cent.
