The unanimous verdict of ‘guilty’ ends one of the last acts in the epic saga of Anglo Irish Bank’s meteoric rise and fall - and of Ireland’s lost decade

‘I am willing to accept responsibility for my personal failings, but I always acted in good faith,” David Drumm told this newspaper in an interview he gave from a US prison in February 2016. After seven years in exile, the former boss of the collapsed Anglo Irish Bank knew the game was up. At the time of the interview, extradition proceedings to bring him home were in full swing.
