The Government was warned about a “shift [in] the competitive balance” between Ireland and the US if Donald Trump’s tax plans go ahead.

In briefing notes drawn up earlier this year, the former Minister for Finance Michael Noonan is warned that “any US tax reform will have an impact on Ireland’s tax competitiveness”, and that “the prospect of US tax reform happening this year is higher than at any point in recent years”.
