Government report proposed €3m salary cap for bankers

A government-commissioned report into bankers’ pay recommended that crisis-era pay caps be lifted and senior executives be paid a maximum of almost €3 million per year in total compensation, the Business Post can reveal.
Paschal Donohoe, the former finance minister, ordered a review into bankers’ pay from Korn Ferry, the global consultancy firm, in 2018. The report has remained unpublished despite repeated requests for it to be made public.
