Government places no limit on short-term letting licences
New licence system set up to regulate sector and return up to 12,000 illegal lets to main residential market
No limit has been placed on the number of short-term letting licences that can be issued by Fáilte Ireland, the Business Post has learned.
Last week Catherine Martin, the Minister for Tourism, announced that property owners would be required to register each home they listed on websites like Airbnb and Booking.com, and secure a licence from Fáilte Ireland, from early 2023.
