Government bids to stop flood of home repossessions

Package of measures to be unveiled later this month

The government will unveil a package of measures later this month which it hopes will put a stop to the flood of home repossession cases currently coming before the courts.

The economic management council (EMC) – the inner cabinet of Taoiseach, Tánaiste, Minister for Finance Michael Noonan, public expenditure minister Brendan Howlin and senior officials – has discussed the repossession crisis repeatedly in recent weeks.
