Google doodle honours mathematician George Boole

Google's latest doodle is a tribute to the mathematician George Boole on the 200th anniversary of his birth.

The English mathematician and logician, the first professor of mathematics at University College Cork, was born on November 2, 1815. He is credited with laying the foundations of the digital age with his system of logic, Boolean algebra, which proved to be the genesis of binary code.
