‘Goodwill’ trust to distribute €1m to ex-Clerys workers

A “goodwill” trust is to organise the fair distribution of about €1 million paid over last week by the owners of the Clerys building to about 130 former employees.

The trustees of the fund have yet to be decided.

But former workers at the department store will receive payments based on years of service and whether they were full-time or part-time staff, rather than favouring those who earned more.
