Publican Frank Gleeson is to walk away from the Mercantile chain of pubs and restaurants with his debts discharged, as part of a settlement to resolve a bitter, two-way legal dispute in the group. The confidential deal, finalised last week, involves Gleeson withdrawing his court action alleging shareholder oppression at Ardan Advisory, the company formed in the wake of the merger last year between the Mercantile pubs group and Capital Bars.
