The decision to limit the scope of an inquiry into claims of malpractice and bullying in An Garda Síochána is “absurd, perverse and irrational”, according to lawyers for a garda whistleblower.

A solicitor for garda Nick Keogh has written to Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald complaining about the “cursory, partial and biased” focus of the six-week investigation into the latest controversy to hit the force.
