GAA stars getting tax-free grants for role in health campaigns

Gaelic footballers and hurlers have agreed to be “role models” in dozens of government health campaign events every year in return for receiving player grants.

The commitment was given in return for the trebling of their annual grant funding by former Taoiseach Enda Kenny, shortly before he left office.
