Friends First scrambling to save its properties from Airbnb clampdown

Ahead of rules to clamp down on Airbnb properties taking effect, life insurer Friends First is fighting to save its properties from the new housing measures.

The firm, which was bought by Aviva Ireland for €130 million last year, owns half a dozen residential units near Grafton Street.

It has requested special permission from Dublin City Council to lease its Clarendon Street apartments on a short-term basis.
