Free GP care for under-sixes could collapse
The government’s free GP scheme for under-sixes is at risk of unravelling, as GPs across the country are gearing up to reject the scheme.
The National Association of General Practitioners (NAGP) has been mobilising GPs to reject the contract, which it has described as “unethical”.
GP meetings have been taking place all over Ireland, with GPs in various locations, including Drogheda and South Tipperary, set to reject the scheme in large numbers.
